Is it normal for a Ligustrum Sinense to lose all of its leaves shortly after delivery from the shop (bonsaishop.nl)?

I was hoping it was just "shock" to the tree by transporting it in the dark and cold, and coming spring the tree will carry leaves again. But am I right? Surely there must be someone out there with the right experience.

I water the tree every couple of days, when the soil feels like it's getting dry, and I fertilize with a liquid fertilizer once a week, leaves or not.

How long do you have the tree in your possesion now?
Never firtilize a plant that is sick, or does not show any growth. No growth = no need to feed it.

It's been in my possession for about 2 months. Two months without leaves. I thought it was in winter-mode and was hoping to see leaves in a few months, when spring will ignite most of nature to bloom.
