Hi all,
I'm new here and new to 名媛直播 I would like to hear everyones thoughts on this topic as I'm struggling a bit....
I've managed to pick up a handful of Field Maples, bare root for next to nothing. I'm planting them up in the ground/large pots to thicken up. I've removed the tap roots as I'd like to start developing good root structure from the beginning however, I'm struggling to keep them upright. I've placed a couple on some tile/wood to help the roots spread however this makes them very unstable.
What tips can you give and what methods do you use to stabilise the tree until it's established new roots and anchored itself in? I've tried a bit of wire around the roots with little success, and I'm trying a bean pole with some wire fastened around it and the trunk.
Anything else I should be doing?
Many thanks

I usually trim the plant short if they are in a field to that risk is lower (Although./. I found a cat had dug up all my new transplants last week, sigh)
Also I pile a few handfulls of dirt around the base so they can settle. Over spring I lower it back to the ormal surface.
But a few wires and stakes could help.

Wire the tree to the tile.
Make a thin layer of soil.
Wire the tile to the pot.
Use a heavy draining soil to fill the pot.
