What is the ideal temperature when reviving a bonsai? was created by TheTraveller0203

Hello! I changed the soil and I managed to revive my bonsai (got a disease and all the leaves fell completely) and very very slowly some new little branches (and maybe leaves, they are brown, I don't know) are sprouting. My doubt is with the temperature. Should I leave my bonsai indoors with less air circulation but the same temperature always? Should I leave it outside in the sunny hours and when the sun goes down I put it again inside? What should I do? I have a ]Chinese Privet (Ligustrum Lucidum) and I live in Lisbon, Portuga, Zone 10 climate. Now at night temperatures are around 4?C and during the day 14?C.

It would be wonderful if you could help me :)
Thanks in advance

Your plant should be outside all the time as long as the temperature is mild. do not keep moving it.

What do you mean for mild temperature? Should I put it outside only during the day?

N?o, se você está em Lisboa, a temperatura n?o é t?o fria a ponto de prejudicar um privet. Eu o deixaria fora, pois geralmente bonsai detestam serem movidos .
Sorry, don't move it indoors and outdoors, bonsai hate being moved a lot. And Portugal is not so cold anyway, Privets can take outdoor temperatures in Lisbon.

The ideal temperature to revive a bonsai would be the temperature it would be in in its native climate, depending on in what stage of it's yearly cycle the plant is.

Most privets sold in Europe can handle -10c without noticing it even was cold (When I had privets myself, they would not even drop their leaves untill temps dropped below -5).

Main caution is that one should never move plants that have been indoors for fall/winter outside in frost conditions. Plants need several weeks to respond to colder temperatures and become frost resistant. Moving a hardy species from a livingroom (18c) to frost is a very good way to thin out your bonsai collection. .

So unfortunately, beginner mistake, I have been making the mistake in the past weeks to move my bonsai outdoors during the day and indoors during the night.
Is it ok if now, from a sudden, if I leave it outside as it should be? It will not damage the tree?
