I received a Brazilian rain tree for Christmas and have bee reading and trying to do the right things - however it”s not looking so good, leaves are falling off and turning yellow. See attached photo .
I live in Missouri and have been using a full spectrum grow light, misting a couple times a day and making sure the root ball doesn’t”t dry out.

Well, Missouri is definitely not the best place for growing a tropical rain tree like the BRT, it looks sad indeed.
It needs a HIGH level of humidity at all times, direct morning sun and temperatures higher than 10°C .
If you keep it inside a humidity tent indoors in your winter it may recover.

Do realize.. BRTs seem to not like to have wet feet, is what I am finding out.

In your winter you mean?
My BRTs close their leaves completely if I don't water them every day. Of course it's summer here. Humidity is around 80% almost all the time. They are growing like mad.

I think I am learning that they grow much better when the roots are not soaking wet, but able to pull the water from the pot every other day.

Trimmed my BRTs yesterday.
