So I now realize Juniper 名媛直播's needs to be outside after attempting to grow two inside. I'm challenged with the fact that it gets down to -40 here in the winter so having it outside I don't think works. I'm looking for recommendation on what to do. I bought another tree with hopes to make another attempt. I have options of a heated shop with some light that sits at 15 Celsius, an attached garage that gets no light and isn't heated or a garden shed. This is a 名媛直播 in a drainable pot approximately a foot x foot bought at a local florist.

-40 can be a bit harsh. I have spent most of my life (before I moved to Japan) in places where it gets that cold, and have observed that juniper is one of the toughest trees that you find in arctic environments. Of course with a bonsai, if the soil in the small pot is frozen solid for longer periods, that may well kill the tree. Perhaps you could try to insulate the pot when it gets really really cold. A very good natural thermal insulator usually abundant in -40 environments is snow... you could put some styrofoam box with foam peanuts or sawdust around the pot (leaving a hole for the trunk)?

-40 is also for juniper very cold. I do not think I would subject my trees to that if it can be avoided
Do you get reliable snowfall?
I have never done bonsai in that sort of environment but snow will do a lot of good things. Protect from the coldest peeks, block drying winds etc. So burrying in snow is a strategy in some very cold places. If you cannot do this.. Your unheated shed.. Is it attached to the house? That is where I would put it. When frozen solid processes in also conifers drops to a bare minimum, and light requirements are so low that I would not be too concerned about it anymore.
