Hi I’m just wondering if anybody can help me I have a 18 month old cutting that I took off an older bonsai of a port Jackson ficus, which has had discolouration if he leaves for some time. I gave it a good fertilise and more sun and it seemed to do the trick it has been very healthy shooting more roots and branches until now the discolouration has come back. It’s on a cellular level not an insect but I don’t think it’s a deficiency either.

is it only on the older leaves? Could it just be aging of the leaves? Else I would look for infections. Thrips can cause this sort of damage too, but normally you would see the buggers on the leaves.

Yeah no thrips in sight it seems to be happening to another one of my figs every now and then too but doesn’t affect the health of the tree so it could be ageing like you said
