I purchased my tree in September and it seemed to be doing well, by submerging it in water every couple of days.
The man i purchased it from said it did not need sun and to submerge it very couple of days.
I keep moving it around in my house trying to figure out what to do with it.
I have tried to not water it so much ... but the leaves keep falling.

A plant needs a source of energy, sunlight or maybe grow lights. It evolved with sunlight, so that is probably best. Put it in the sun, keep it one place and don't move it. Let it get accustomed to one place. Trees in nature don't move around.
Watering by submerging is not real good. That lets all the chemicals in the water build up in the soil. Put the plant on a dish, pour a lot of water on the soil, let it pour out the drain holes in the bottom of the pot, and then let it be until the soil is dry. The plant wants some air around the roots, and the water draining out of the bottom pulls fresh air in.

All of Ivan's suggestions are good.
Don't dunk it.
Don't move it around.
Plenty of light, outdoors if possible.
