I had a pot full of soil sitting on my deck this spring. A maple seed landed in it and decided to grow! I intend to make it into a bonsai tree. Currently it has lost its final leaf for the upcoming winter. I wanted to know if I should do anything special for it during the winter. It's on a covered porch so very little, if any, snow will land on it. Do I wager it, and if so, how much? Should I insulate the pot somehow? (It's about a foot tall) Thank you!

we do not know your climate. But if this is a local species it should be able to handle local winter.
