Hello, I have a question about my punca granatum bonsai that I've had since spring this year.
I'm growing it indoors, window with led light.
Now it's autumn and the bonsai have stopped growing and the leaves look less green.
Should I defoliate it and stop the fertilizing?
All my tropical bonsais are still growing good.
Thank you.

No why would you defoliate?
Punica will turn color with the season and will drop its leafs when it gets too cold to keep them.
Mine have started dropping their leaves last week.

My experience is that they die indoors.
First they get weak, then pests will jump in, then the leaves start to fall down.
But maybe it is my indoors, yours could be different.

Ok because I did read on this website that it's possible to keep indoor:

Let's say I don't believe the info in that website above, and I also live in a tropical country.
For starters, and *not wishing to begin a war here*, these plants listed below (by the website itself) are not even considered bonsai to many well known bonsaists:
Ficus Elastica
Adenium
Crassula Ovata
Gardenia
Dwarf Banana
Portucalaria Afra
But don't get put down by my answer; provide light, humidity (plenty), good watering, insecticides and daily care and it may thrive, even indoors.
Or so many people advise.

My Punica granatum did grow a lot in spring, since that it seem to only get weaker did buy an extra led light.
Hoping that it will survive and get better in spring
Why not gardenia? Have seen amazing bonsai of this species.
Thank you.

Ok is it supposed to grow year around like a tropical, or only in the spring?
Thank you.
Thank you.
