This is probably nothing considering the conditions, but I have been an overprotective tree momma ever since losing my azalea to an unknown problem and I want to make sure my trees are doing ok.

The photo shown below is one of my two trident maple prebonsai and was taken on October 27th, though the yellowing on it had appeared about a week and a half prior and has been increasing exponentially since. It is the start of fall and many other trees in my area have already turned oranges and yellows so it could be fall coloration, but my other trident maple is still in a deep green. Considering I did a trunk chop on both of the trees quite some time ago and the one pictured grew out its leaves first (the other took about ~1 month after to follow suit), is it reasonable to assume its leaves are showing their colors first as they are older and the other will soon follow? Or is it sick? Thanks!

P.S. I lifted it from the pot to do a looksie at the roots around when the problem was starting and nothing seemd abnormal. No bugs or fungus, just healthy looking roots.

Are you sure there are tridents?

As for trunk chops.. Why would you do that on these seedlings? THey have sooo much growing ahead of them?

In any case.. Feels to me normal seasonal change.
