Hello all,
I have a trident maple and i have noticed today that it is starting to wilt and its leaves are drying.
I have been watering it as usual so i havent under watered it.
From what i have read it i should let it sit in water for 10 mins or it could be root bound?
i tipped the plant over and pulled it up a bit and i can see the roots on the outter layer of the soil.
Does anyone have any advice

Looks like it is drying out. Not only underwatering can cause that, but also soil that doesn't hold water or damaged roots.

I'm going to have to guess based on the limited information I have.
Seems the rootball is very shallow and it looks like there's very little soil in the pot, but a lot of stones/pebbles?
If that's so, I'd consider repotting it to a more suitable soil. Also, I'd put it in a place with no direct sun for the moment.

What information do you need?
Sorry i am new to bonsai so i dont know everything that you would need.
The photo of the soil is just me partially bringing the plant out of the pot so you could see its roots. There is soil in there and the pebbles are only on the top of the soil.
