I am new at this, and just bought a mini bonsai ficus juniper from amazon . Which i might regret. I have a large south facing window but my backyard has lots of shade the sun comes in like 3 or 4 hrs a day. I was thinking a long florescent light i have on a shelf next to it. ? Is will it survive like that?

Yes, you are right. You might be didsapointed. In fact, most People with experience in bonsai woldnt buy that.

I am sorry to tell you. But If the seller dont have any idea if the tree is a juniper or a Ficus, their business is not really serious.

So, this is your first lesson in the art of bonsai. Research a tree before purshasing and never buy without seeing the actual individual tree.

If this misstake dont scare you from the bonsai hobby. Please research how to pick a good material from nurcery stock. That is by far the best way to start if you have limited resources awailable.

I'm pretty sure Amazon doesn't sell 'ficus juniper' as that's something that does not exist. Can you check what you purchased? It's either a Ficus or a Juniper.
The care guidelines for both are very different, so it's important to know what you actually have.

Sooo...a bonsai juniper is not a ficus? If not amazon gonna hear about this! It had such good reviews, well also bad ones. Next time i will buy from an official bonsai grower. Thanks for the update. I will send pics when i get back home.

Juniper and Ficus are two different species, so no, that's possible. I can't find a 'juniper ficus' on Amazon either.

Picture would be nice. Or perhaps the link to the item sold from Amazon?

Is it possible the seller sold bonsai trees, and he offered both Juniper and Ficus as starter bonsai trees, wich you would pick from a list?

If that’s the case i can understand you tough you had bought ?Juniper Ficus 名媛直播?. If that was in the title of the product.

My guess; ”Juniper Ficus 名媛直播 Trees for sale Starter trees”

Edit: i searched for juniper ficus on amazon, and got this. (See picture)

Ah.. what was I thinking, claiming that Amazon would NOT sell 'Juniper Ficus'... even I am gullible sometimes. I mean... they even sell blue maples.
