Fukean Tea Tree yellowing leaves indoors was created by badatusernames

My tea tree was doing wonderfully outside. I brought it in as the nights were getting under 50 degrees. I'm noticing some leaves are starting to yellow and I was curious if anyone has any advice? I'm watering it about the same, don't leave it it standing water, it's in a window (though one facing southwest as opposed to south).

It's been in for a week or so and I'm wondering if maybe it's just acclimating or if perhaps I need to do something different. Figured I'd check now before the yellowing got worse.

disclaimer: I do not have this species, never had, and never will.. Just know this is one of those species that really is hard to keep in houses, yet is sold a lot to people. :|

In general the transition from outside to dry inside air is difficult for plants. So loosing some leaves is normal. How do you manage the indoors climate? Heaters? Air conditionars?

It stays a pretty consistent 68-70 degrees inside, it's not near any heaters etc. I'm in the Northeast so I believe I have to bring it in for the winter, but I could be wrong.

I do have a little humidifier I could put near it if the dryness is the main concern.

Same disclamber as leatherback.

This tree seems to thrive naturalized close to invasive in the lowlands of the Hawaian islands. If you check a little about the climate and daytime leangth, sun exposure etc you might find the key for keeping it healthy.

Here in nothern europe, it will not survive the winter without additional light. If you live in a place with less daytime leangth than 10 hours, the tree will most likelly benefit from additional light.

Edit: Native to south east asia, I would expect this tree to need higher humidity than is healthy for a normal house in the northern hemisphere. Just like any plant from there, I think the key to real success is growing it in a high humidity terrearium. I might do that in the future :)

That's awesome, thank you for the tips! I will try putting the humidifier near it for now and see if that has an impact.

By the way, if anyone has a suggestion for resources to look into for bonsai in general I'm interested - I knew from the place I bought it from that I might need a humidification device during the winter months, but I didn't think it was so dry inside so early in the season that I'd need one now. And the stuff I found online didn't seem to mention humidification at all. So it seems that there's a gap between the general written (at least quickly accessed) info and the tribal knowledge bonsai folks have, or, I'm just looking in the wrong spots.

Would like to get to a spot where I'm not just asking what may be considered rather standard questions.
