My Chinese Myrtle is not very happy as you can see, the leaves are drooping and some are turning brown.
Can anyone help me identify what is wrong with it and tell me if I can fix it, I have had it for about a month and have done my research but apparently not enough
I thought perhaps it is overwatering, by the advice of my local garden centre I was watering it when the top portion of soil was dry (probably once a week of so) by putting it into a container of water and waiting for the bubbles to stop, but maybe this was too much water, the leaves are curling which apparently is a sign of overwatering- in this case should I repot it?
I live in Southern England and it is just starting to get a bit colder and I have been keeping it outside in partial sun.
There are still green shoots at the top as you can see so I am hoping it can be saved, it was so healthy looking in the summer and was flowering etc so I am quite sad and disappointed in myself that I have let it down Any help is greatly appreciated

The soil looks quite organic. I would guess overwatering as well. Maybe not too offten, but too much. It is a Hard balace watering with this kind of soil. But I dont have any experience with this species.
It should proboably benefit from repotting, but I think the time is wrong.

Syzygium Buxifolium? A tropical/sub-tropical.
If you watered it only once a week or so, I'd say you UNDERwatered it. Can't be sure though, all I can tell is that these low quality 'bonsai' very often die.

It is still very warm in the south of England, so this plant should be outside and watered. Do not think of re potting. The growers I know that have this species keep it outside. in a sheltered spot. If you need advice or help go to a bonsai club or nursery not garden centre.
