Hi,
I'm new on this forum and i'm from Quebec, Canada. So I started 4 months ago some ficus carica and pomegrenate bonsai by germination. Yesterday I proceed to cut to main taproot as well as triming the roots. I took out approximately 80% of the root system leaving a few secondary roots. Today most of of my plants look sad (leaves laying down), maybe the shock was too much. Will they survive? Did I cut off to much roots? Should I take them away from the direct sun for a few days?
Sincerely,
Xavier

Tiy should absolutely take them out of the sun. Without the roottips the capacity to uptake water s seriously reduced. I like to give trees a week or so to recover depending on how many of the root tips I left.
