Please help. What kind of pine tree is this does anyone know? The needles are sharp and hurt if you touch them, unlike other pines where the needles don’t hurt. I wanna try doing bonsai on this pine tree.

doesn't look like a pine. looks like a juniper but hard to tell what kind from this picture

It looks a juniper with both juvanile and mature foliage. If that is correct, the scale type needles are the more mature foliage. Generally both type of foliage on the same plant means that it was stressed at some point in time. are you keeping it under that tent?
