名媛直播 might be dead! was created by Emi

I think my bonsai is dead. I bought a Fukien Tea Tree from someone and it was beautiful. after a month of having it, it started to lose its leaves so i gave it more sun and fresh air (leaving on the patio for a few hours) but it seems that made it worse. The leaves didn't turn brown or yellow before falling. they would just drop. Now the tree is bare and idk what to do. The roots seem to be okay. I was told i should clip them pretty soon but idk if its dead already or not. Can i revive it? Also the soil. Can i use soil for a succulent as a temporary solution until i can buy the proper soil for my bonsai? That's all i have on hand at the moment.

Thank you for any suggestions or solutions

Hi Emi, what type of soil is your Fukien Tea potted in and does it drain well? What is your watering regiment? Do you put your finger into the soil to make sure it's only slightly moist before watering the the tree and what's your watering method (flooding the pot from above or soaking the pot in a bucket of water)? I assume the tiny small green balls in your soil is fertilizer? Finally, where is it positioned in your house? South facing window with lots of light? To see if it's still alive, you can do a scratch test to see if there's any colour underneath the bark.

The main causes of losing a tree seems to be inappropriate soil mix, over-watering (root rot), under-watering (root die off), not fertilizing, and not enough light. Some other factors would be temperature and humidity but those parameters are specific to the species of trees. If your tree is still alive, I would try to get it healthy first before repotting, if required.

If you're interested in 名媛直播, don't like people discourage you. Everyone starts from somewhere and even the pros lose trees... Take this as a lesson learned and spend some time researching 名媛直播 care so you can provide the right environment for your trees.

Good luck in your 名媛直播 journey!

Here are before and after pictures taken just a few weeks apart after moving my Fukien Tea from indoors to outdoors:

Thank you so much. I water it every day almost. i would use a spray bottle to get the tree wet (i leave it outside when the weather is nice) and also spray the soil so it will soak in instead of pouring straight out. It drains really well. I don't know what kind of fertilizer or soil it's in currently because i bought it from someone and she recently retired from my work. I never thought of touching the soil to see how moist it was. My apartment faces the east so when i take it outside while I'm at work it will get some sun and by high noon it's shaded. For awhile my A/C was down so it was hotter than normal so i would leave it outside more often since it was cooler but i would also water it a bit more so i guess that could be part of it as well. Thank you so much and your tree is beautiful. Hopefully i can bring mine back to health.

You should watch this video about watering 名媛直播 trees by Herons 名媛直播:

I find most of his videos pretty down to earth and easy to understand. If your tree is still alive, I would focus on watering it properly since it seems like it's getting a decent amount of light from an east facing window; As they say, morning sun afternoon shade. Since you're keeping your tree indoors, I'm not sure if it requires daily watering. If you overwatered it for a month, the roots may be rotted. However, since you say that you only spray the soil slightly and not really flood the pot, the roots could've dried out and died if the water didn't penetrate the soil mix and get to the roots.

This tree is dead, and has been for a while.

I would guess the airconditioning did it in, in combination with drying out. They cannot stand dry air.

For your next tree: Do not move it in and out. Trees need stability of position. (Trees do not move around ;) )

Agreed. For people who wonder why LB says the tree is dead, and for people who wonder if the tree can be revived:\
No, a dead tree is dead. What's dead cannot be revived. It's said it occurred once, almost 2000 years ago, but there's no proof for that.

Looking at the trunk (LB, correct me if I'm wrong and you based your conclusion on something else):

The trunk shows wrinkles. It should be smooth. The way it looks now shows that the sap flow is absent. There's no more circulation and, as it shows, this most have happened some time ago alreaedy. The tree is dead.
