Hello, so I bought a Chinese Elm on 10.7. and brought it home. Looked really healthy, there were new leaves growing, green branches. I keep him inside because I don't have any other option. Two days later I noticed a little bugs(not sure what species they are, dark color) and also a small maggots. On the third day (13.7.) I watered it for the first time. Two days later (15.7.) I noticed that the yellow leaves were falling off. It's been like this since then, every day some of the leaves would fall off with the color of yellow and brown, even the small ones. Today (18.7.) I watered it again and used a fertilizer and hope it's get better. I'm worried and not sure what I am doing wrong, I read that that the tree could be stressed because of change of a location. Should I buy a pesticide or something to fight those bugs?

Replied by Auk on topic Chinese Elm (leaves/bugs)

It should be outdoors, it looks too wet, it.... wait, why am I repeating this?

Elms are one of the most popular species for bonsai, and unfortunately, one of the far most sold, cheap and low quality mallsai.
Questions about their care, diseases, watering issues and bugs are asked here on a daily basis. Have a look, use the search option.
