Hi guys,

New to forum so, nice to meet you all. So I'm in the UK and have a Fig & a Ficus bonsai, (someone may correct me) and I've had them 2 years now. I repotted them in a premium bonsai mix that I found online that has;
One third Akadama
One third Kyodama
One third John Innes No.3

They're currently in my greenhouse, on a humidity tray, watered reguarly (when dryish) and feed once a week with 名媛直播 plantfood made by Chrysal, probably worth noting I loosely scattered a small mix that a neighbour made, which was chicken pellets and some kind of fish food I believe (he also is into 名媛直播's and said to give it a go)
They seem healthy still, still growing but when I bought them they was thick with leaves, branches had no 'bald patches', but this winter I lost alot of the leaves. Now the only growth I'm getting is at the end of the branches, making them longer, not thicker. Does anyone have any expert advice on how to maybe correct this or increase growth closer to the trunk/on branches that are bald?

Thank you for any advice given, I really appreciate it. Hopefully the attachments should be visible of when the tree was purchased 2 yrs ago vs now.

Thanks everyone!

Usually longer internodes and larger leaves means they are lacking light.
Ficus should take your summer (direct sun) very easily, so...
Try putting them outside, perhaps?
And to stimulate back budding, they should be trimmed in mid summer, even defoliated (IF they are healthy, very healthy).

Hi Clicio, thanks for the reply. Last Saturday I invested in a greenhouse and they've been outside day & night now since, it's not a glass one, just one of those makeshift plastic ones, I was hoping the increased humidity, heat and all day sunlight (typically the greenhouse gets sunlight about 8am, till around 7), although I'm still relatively new to 名媛直播's so will look into back budding and how to do it successfully.
