Hi.
I've discovered a new problem with some of my trees. This summer we got more rain and less sun than I had expected. Now the soil in my pots are constantly wet and there are flies in the soil. I would like to repot to soil with much better drainage. Is it possible to do now? The trees are deciduous trees. Thanks in advance.

Deciduous trees are difficult to repot when in leaf

They will do no damage, so it rains, that is what happens and they get wet. In a week or so hey will be getting dry. Don't worry about it, and do not re pot any deciduous trees at this time of year if you don't want to kill them

Can you? Well..it can be done.
Should you? If you have to ask the answer is nope.
Better to just provide shelter if they really are soaking. Not that fertiliser also attracts flies.
