Hey everyone!
So this is my first time working with a bonsai tree but have been an apartment houseplant and garden guy for years in Brooklyn, NY.
I recently picked up this tree at my local homedepot and repotted into the picture below. I know it’s a little large for a traditional bonsai potting but wanted to see if anyone had any tips for watering on this species.
Photos attached. It gets direct light in the afternoon only. Last photo has placement in apartment.
Any info would be helpful!
Thanks!

Hello, welcome.
Does the pot have draining holes?
Don't overwater the soil and only water when it feels dry to the touch under the first layer of the soil.
It looks very sandy, I guess the granular size should be a little bigger.
Don't move it around a lot, ficus doesn't like it.
