Help save my Podocarpus bonsai

Hi all! This is a Podocarpus that I bought about three months ago and at that time was lush with lots of branches and green leaves. But this month suddenly whole branches started drying and turning black. I pruned them and started seeing new growth so was happy. But suddenly overnight the new buds all wilted. I don’t know what’s wrong. I try not to over/underwater but I haven’t been giving any fertiliser or pesticide. I noticed a worm escaping the pot last week. Could this be causing it? How can I save the tree? Would appreciate any help on this! Thanks!

Hello.
If it is indoors with the succulents, it will die. Trees belong outdoors.
Soil doesn't look too good either.

Looks like root problems. My best bet would be that the roots dried out once, and now you have a mucky situation down there. I would carefully repot and clean out the soil. Doubt it will make it though/

Thanks a lot for the advice. I’ll try repotting. I really do hope it survives. Do you also think bonsais can’t grow indoors like the comment above?

Last I knew, plants grow outside. Some survive indoors, but to grow bonsai, outdoors makes life a lot easier (Although podocarpus cannot deal with frost, I think)
