The rope holds the root to grow up, not holding the top to bend down.

Aerial roots in Ficuses don't grow up.
In some orchids yes, they can go "up", but not in Ficus.

Thank you for this information, I was reading about developing air roots, and found few posts about puting branches into soil what causes growing roots under the surface. I just considered, that maybe those on my tree was created with this method. I am begginer
