My mother and I recently bought a bonsai tree each both around 10 years old. We currently have them sitting on the window sill in the kitchen, mine seems to be absolutely fine. However, my mum's tree is starting to discolour and the leaves are falling off...we have watered, fed, same light, temp exactly the same so we are a bit confused as to why hers is dying? please help asap.

Are both of your bonsai the same species?

It could be that your mother's requires different conditions to yours. I believe that as a rule all bonsai very much prefer to be outdoors (tropical bonsai more likely to deal with an indoor climate)

The kitchen environment might be too dynamic for your mum's bonsai~
