Vitex help needed

Hey all first post here so please be gentle lol.
I'm pretty new to bonsai but my wife bought me this Vitex nursery stock thinking I could play with it.
I really like it but just have no idea what to do with it. Is there anything here or am I just spitting in the wind?
It's recently been root trimmed and moved up to show the root flare which in my uneducated opinion is quite decent. When I did this I plated it back on top of a plate to encourage radial root growth. Thanks far in advance for any help.

Well, It is a young tree. Soil looks too organic for me, could be a problem.
Vitex is great for its gnarly wood when old, but the leaves are sort of difficult to reduce in size.
I guess the future of your tree could be along these red lines below, IF IT BACKBUDS on old wood, I really don't know if this will happen.
For now I would let it grow to gain girth on the trunk.
Later maybe chop it down?
On the other hand, I see plenty of Vitex windswept or literati styles, perhaps because they don't backbud easily?
