Why did my red maple leaves become more green? was created by ankarabonsai

Hello,
I have bought red maples. After two weeks, most of the red colour changed to green colour?
Is it because I did not give enough fertilizer, or because I gave too much nitrogen fertilizer?
Is it because that the sunlight is too much or too low.?
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Probably because they are "regular" maples. Their leaf color can be red in spring and autmn but green in between...

that is what happens as the leaves emerge and harden they will turn green. Then later in the year they will become red again. Nothing to do with fertiliser.

Hi, this is quite normal if you have the Deshojo variety… the new leaves show a vibrant red as they appear in early spring, then they turn green in late spring. During autumn they are supposed to turn red again - though, with mine, a very bad exposure (too much heat and sunlight in summer) causes the Leaves to get scorched and "sacrificed" by the tree. I am trying, for next summer, to shade it more then I've managed to do in the past years,
The pics show my little tree.. still reddish 3 weeks after budding, and more greenish yesterday...
