New trees indoor and outdoor having weather trouble! Please help!! was created by tpthompson0

So I recently purchased some new little young bonsai. One is a trident maple and one is blue wisteria. From my understanding these trees should be outdoor trees, but after I potted them and watered them the temperature in my home state (Indiana) has gotten really nasty. The first week I had the trees they did great and I had them out in the sun in there respective places and had protected them from too much direct afternoon heat and too much wind etc etc as they are still young and newly potted like I said. However, again, now the weather has gone from 70 and sunny to rain everyday and tonight the temperature could get as low as 35 with potential for frost in the morning. I am really struggling here to find any information concerning newly planted young bonsai anywhere.

I don't know if I should move them to my garage where it may still get below 50 F tonight or if I should just keep them inside by my large south facing living room window?!?! Where they get sunlight and where the temp inside our home ranges from 68-74 throughout the day. I do not want these little guys to go dormant just because of some bad and cold weather for the next week we are subject to be exposed to. However, I don't know if they are okay to be inside for a while? Also I watered them not too long ago and now that it is cold the soil in there pots is not dry but it is damp and has been for a few days. I haven't watered anymore but I don't want them to get any root rot or anything as this is the problem I had with my first bonsai and learned a valuable lesson about overwatering. Will they be okay then in all these situations?!

Thank you for the help and any responses!

Also have four new young black mulberries inside a home made greenhouse and 2 Australian willow and 2 Dragon willow that are in cups of nice clean rain water and they all sit near this same window in the day, too. I am waiting for weather to improve as well to get these all outside and potted so as to have them ready to go for the summer and into fall.
Pictures are shown so you can see my window etc. other big pot is my cactus that is about ten years old and has no issues.
the last two are my mulberry in the greenhouse i made. Lowes bucket cut out wrapped in plastic with gorilla tape with some tiny holes on sides and top for air.

Trees that are local to my climate never go inside. They have to deal with the weather they get. Also when they have been repotted.

I only gave shelter when after a few weeks of nice sunny and warm spring weather (20 degrees or something) and all my acers had tossed out 10+cm of growth, temperatures dropped to -3 overnight again. But even that should be OK for a few hours.

You need to stop fussing and leave these seedlings alone. Put them out and leave them out. They will be perfectly fine, keep them on the side away from strong winds yes, but that is all. rain is normal. As for the Mulberrys mine take -7C each year and are fine. They are not going to do well in that bucket. No light no air.

If the temperature has been above freezing a while and then dips down I usually just put them on the ground, which keeps the pots a little warmer. If it jumps down way below freezing for days after new growth has established that is different.

Trees are not people. Harsh weather to us is just winter nap time. Let them enjoy nap time.
