I missed a few days of watering; this bloomed once, small cherry-blossom like blooms - then it all dried up. I've been consistent with the watering since, but the dried-up blooms just stay as-is. Not sure if I've seen any difference at all. Want to know if it's beyond help. Please advise, thanks!

Surely some pictures will help.
But by the description you gave, and knowing nothing about the species, weather, location, hemisphere and how many days it "missed watering", I suppose it's dead.

Hopefully the photos will attach this time; it is a cherry-blossom blooming tree. Daily watering since I found the blooms had dried up have not made any difference. Would a good pruning help? How can I tell if it's dead or not?

unlikely pruning will make any difference, sounds to me as if it is dead. Do not keep watering, if there are no leaves then the plant cannot take the water and it will quickly become waterlogged.
