About a month ago I was sent a campache bonsai tree from Puerto Rico it was doing okay for the first few days and then the leaves started changing. I poked around in the soil to find out there was a few air pockets and the soil was a mix of peat moss and Rock so I mixed up a good draining soil of black lava rock akadama and organic bonsai soil I added some myconox mycorrhixal inoculate to the Roots and a pinch of fertilizer in hopes that it would perk up my tree now it looks like it's completely dying off I am stumped on what to do to try and save this tree. Oh and also I've been watering it with distilled water that has 1 teaspoon of bonsai frits multi mineral dissolved in it.

this tree has a pretty good base but why is it in such a small bonsai pot? It 's going to need vigorous growth to get a new leader. it should be in the ground - or at least a decent sized pot allowing abundant growth.

Can't help you with the issue. Never heard of "campache".

All I can say is: give it time to adjust to its new environment. Don't fertilize. Why use distilled water? It's no longer distilled water as soon as it touches the soil.

The reason why it's in such a small pot is because that's what it came in I'm having a larger one made right now. I changed out the soil because it was extremely waterlogged and this particular one doesn't like its feet to be wet so now the soil has better drainage. I'm using distilled water because our water from the tap isn't good so I buy distilled water for drinking and watering my plants I added minerals to the water because distilled water has none.

I hope that all makes sense oh and yes I misspelled CAMPECHE lol ?

Please don't overdo it.
Leave it alone for some weeks, in bright shade, no fertilizer and water it properly.
Yes, you can use bottled water IF your tap water is really hard/lime loaded, but rain water is better.
Keep us updated on its progress.

The spelling is not the problem, it is just me not knowing the species.

Where are you located? Are you in the same climatic zone as where the tree came from? Moving about is very stressfull for plants. You need to mimic the climate of the origine.

I live in the Seattle area I keep it inside under a t5 and I mist it a few times a day to try and mimic humidity until I can purchase a proper humidifier. My poor tree has finally dropped its last leaf :( I was told this was a hardy tree and it would do great here as long as I didn't let it get too cold which I haven't im really kicking myself for not going through a nursery instead of a random grower.

Quick update: still no leaves the branches seam a bit brittle but they look green under the bark I've been tempted to nick a root and possibly the truck to see if its green. Is this recommended or should I give it more time before I try nicking it?

Give it time. Undestand that doing a scratch test doesn't prove anything - except that it's maybe not dead yet. It does give some damage. Not much, but it's not needed. Do not mess with the roots. Give the tree time. Wouldd be a waste... I do like the base of this one.

Look at the branches/trunk. Are they shriveling up? That would be a sign the tree is dying.

Doesn't look like anything is shriveling but the branches seam to be brittle definitely not as bendable as they were when it had leaves.
