Help! Please! How to deal with 名媛直播 Dormancy crisis! was created by CMarie

Hello Everyone!

I have a Juniper 名媛直播 tree that I received as a gift in the middle of winter about a year ago... Per my research, I found that I SHOULD NOT attempt to put it into a dormancy period, but wait.. It appeared to go dormant (stopped growing but didn't fade or turn brown) for a little while. And it survived the year perfectly well. It was indoors, and with further research, I did not know how to acclimate it to an outdoor environment without throwing it into shock so I felt it was better to leave it indoors--especially since our winters fluctuate significantly temperature-wise. It appeared to go dormant again this winter and has come out looking perfectly fine and is now growing again. Some people do say that junipers can be grown indoors...and that a beginner should NOT try to force dormancy.
But I really want this little guy to live, and I don't know what the right thing to do! I feel like it is doing fine indoors, but I could be completely wrong!!!!
Is it going to suddenly die because it might not have had its dormant period???
I was going to repot it this spring but maybe I shouldn't...
Does anyone have any ideas or any thoughts that might help me!!! Please!!!
Thanks so much!!!

Thank you!
Yes! Here he is! He has wires on right now. I have been pinching to shape him, and I feel like he looks healthy....

You should not have pinched it, especially not if you think it is not growing. You hould not have wired it, especially not if you think it is not fully healthy.

I did not pinch it when it wasn't growing. It has started growing again and looks completely healthy...Just as it looked healthy when I wired it... It seems to be doing fine. But I'm just not sure about the whole indoor outdoor dormancy period detail...
It doesn't seem to be an unhealthy tree...but I don't know if it will just die suddenly having not had the proper dormancy requirements. Any thoughts?

Claire, it will not die suddenly.
But...
It can become weaker and weaker every season, stop growing, then some brown foliage, pests (they love weak trees), and finally...
They need to be outdoors, and they need dormancy periods.

Yes... It's spring now though. Should I put it outside and hope it survives until winter and the next dormancy period. Or should I try to force it into dormancy myself?
Also, is it possible for them to go into dormancy without low temperatures...I can't tell why it would stop growing for a period looking perfectly healthy and then start again.

Move it outside once you have had your last frost. Slowly get it used to full sun then leave ot there it should be fine and go dormant next fall by itself.

You know your way around plant is this survived indoors so long, so you ll manage this transition easily. Just remember, plants can get sunburn just like us. So going from the dark indoors into permanent sun is a bit much in one go.

Okay! Thank you! Should I try repotting it? I really feel as though it needs new soil.
