please help me save my tree- brown, falling leaves was created by Rada13

Hello, everybody. I registered to this forum because I am desperate to save my little tree :( I got it as a present for my 23rd birthday from my parents and it has a lot of sentimental value.

So, my tree is a little Ficus Ginseng. I got it in October, in my hometown, and brought it to my apartment. RIght after I brought it home, its leaves started dropping like crazy. In a matter of a few days, almost all were gone. I took some of the fallen leaves to a local florist, he looked at them under the microscope and told me that it has parasites and mold. He gave me a solution- a mix of fungicide, insecticide and fertilizer- to spray on its leaves and it worked! Though it had only about 6 leaves left, they stopped falling and everything seemed to be fine. He also told me to spray any other plant in my apartment in case the thing spread.

A few days ago, though, it started dropping leaves again. This time, though, it is different. The first time, the dropping leaves were green and looked healthy. Now, they are somehow shrivelling and turning dark brown before falling. I should mention, about a week prior to that I sprayed it with some fertilizer- but it is the same that I have used before, in the same concentration.

My poor tree now only has one healthy looking leaf left :( however, on some of its empty branches, I can see some little green stem-like things that are growing- they look like new leaves or branches, maybe, but they are really, really small, like a few milimeters. But they are there, and they give me hope!
The tree is watered once a week- it's what I've been told is best for them, to avoid rot from overwatering- and it is placed on my desk. It has plenty of light, but direct sunlight is on it only a couple of hours in the afternoon and it started having direct sunlight again just a few days ago- we had a very cloudy, dark winter this year.

My question is, what can I do to save it? Do the little green things mean that it will be able to regenerate and grow new leaves? Am I supposed to do something? Why are its leaves turning brown?

I would do anything possible to save this tree. I attached some photos where you can see the state of the leaves, the trunk and the little green things.
Thank you very, very much for any answer that might help!

Hello and welcome.

Do the little green things mean that it will be able to regenerate and grow new leaves?
Yes. It will grow new leaves.

Am I supposed to do something? Why are its leaves turning brown?
Stop using the fertilizer. It is possible the reason to the brown leaves. Wait for the new growth. Let the soil become dry between watering, but it may not become completly dry.
Good luck.

Hello, Rada, welcome.
Your Ficus needs more water (once a week is not enough) and don't move it around, they hate being moved.
Wait, as the new shoots will develop from the green buds.
Good luck!

Hello!
I have a similar situation. I have bonsai ficus benjamina. He lived with me for three years, but two weeks ago the leaves suddenly began to fall off. Now they are completely gone. I was advised to sprinkle it constantly, he also had new sprouts, but they begin to turn brown on the top and then turn into dry ones. Tell me why they become dry, although they continue to grow? The root system seems to be normal? Watering is enough. Why does it dry? Tell me how to help him? Please....
