Hello! I just got a bonsai tree for valentine's day from my boyfriend and I want to take good care of it (I am a newbie to bonsai trees) but I have no idea what species it is!
Could someone please help me identify it?

thank you, but the leaf seems to have smooth edges, not like that one ..

Hi and welcome. You have a ligustrum -Privet family- there, probably ligustrum sinense.
