Hello.
I am a bonsai newbie who just received a beautiful Fukien tea tree. It came in great condition, no yellow leaves. I’ve had it for a week or so. I came home today to yellows leaves (see pic below)
, some dropped off, still leaving a few yellows on the tree. It’s under an led full spec light. I have a few specific questions...
-what is a good light cycle for a timed light?
- the soil seems dry, I don’t want to overwater. I have given maybe 2-3 tbsp every 2 days. I’ve been waiting til it feels dry, it is pretty dry in my place (humidity tray is set up and I keep filled, not touching soil). The knowledgeable rep I spoke to said as long as it’s not muddy and not super dry it should be happy. I’ve been feeling and it’s kind dry but there’s a cool feel to the undersoil.
Just hoping to do these wonderful little things justice.

You have not been watering anywhere near enough. That amount of water will not be enough to soak through Water until it runs throughy and lt it drain, wait until it is almost dry then water again

Ok, I gave it a good drink... will something detectable happen with overwatering? Aka what will I see when more water is too much? Based on your bonsai group page, sounds like you’ve seen a thing or two.
Thanks! Wish I could visit Britain to come to your bonsai group. I bet it’s awesome. Any pics you’re proud of?
