Hi I received this tree for Christmas here in England and obvs it’s winter and I’ve been trying to help it through with artificial light as we live in a dark basement flat. The apex of the plant seems to completely died! I am very new to this hobby but have been doing a lot of reading and following instructions but there is Also some
Leaves that have started to curl and a couple of leaves with yellow brown spots I only water when it feels dry on top and just sit it in water go twenty minutes then drain. I’m thinking a repot in spring in a bonsai mix recommended on here 2 1 1 Akadama pumice and lava rock would help with drainage and aeration etc and over watering. But would really like some advice from someone experienced also now worried I’m
Giving it to much light as I bought an led light just to try and help the tree. The temperature is always 15 - 20 degrees it is fairly close to a radiator but I don’t sit it right next to it but worried if I move it too far it will get cold any tips on regulating the heat and humidity would also be much appreciated. I know a lot of forums say don’t place near a radiator but I worry any where else won’t be warm enough was wondering wheather it would be Advisable to get a heater portable with thermostat and a fan to circulate the air to help with humidity. I have been misting the tree but I’m also worried that has caused more harm so stopped doing it as much. Sorry for the rant I really love my tree and really found a passion in bonsai and don’t wanna kill my first tree. There is a couple of pics attached sorry for the lighting the tree is in the soil it came with I’m no expert but just looks like a regular potting mix or soil. There is also so some roots coming up from the surface so maybe a repot would make a lot of difference I have just bought some Fertilizer but says not to use until spring and here it says you can still Fertilizer in winter just less often but I have given it no Fertilizer since Christmas so well over a month I’m wondering wheather that would be advisable or better to wait till spring when reporting .

Aurora, a Ficus will never complain of "too much humidity", but it can dry up in two days.
It looks pretty ok for the moment but...It needs as much light as possible, and temps above 10C.
No fert for now, and wait till spring to repot, soil still looks fine.If it's alive in this soil so far, don't fret over it.
Good luck!

Are you sure it is really deadwood? Ficus sprout from everywhere when happy, even when one thinks bare branches are dead.

Yer it seems pretty dead to me as there is no foliage etc and the wood is very dry and brittle. And now another branch is drying and the leaves have wittered on that branch
