Hi All,
I just got into the hobby and picked up a Chinese Elm 3 weeks ago. I’ve kept it indoors by a window with bright light and I’ve been watering it every 4-5 days. Recently, the leaves have begun to look dry and I’m concerned that I’m killing the tree. Can anyone offer any advice as to what I am doing wrong? I’m worried that I’m too late!
Thanks!

Did you bring it inside from outside when you bought it?
Be sure that the soil becomes dry between wathering but make sure that it not dries completly out.
Put it in the brightest place possible.
Then your tree probably will be fine. If the tree loses its leaves then it should make lots of new shoots in a couple of weeks.
Consider to put it outside in spring wich is best for the tree.

When bark goes wrinkly like this, most of the time the tree is gone. All sap has withdrawn from it. Maybe you forgot to water in time once, the roots dried out and that was that.
