I am currently attempting to shape my first tree. I have no idea how to or where to start. I don’t want to ruin him. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I believe it’s a juniper.

You are right it is a Juniper. I hope you only took it in to take a picture. There is not much to prune, you will have to allow it to grow a lot more yet. It is a long way off being a bonsai though, But the first thing you must do is put it outside if it is not there already.

it is a juniper make sure it gets enough sun always water daily or when the soil is dry don't prune yet
