Depending completely on the species, a tree needs some length of time in cold weather, which could mean below freezing, for days. You would have to set up a refrigerator with sun imitating grow lights, probably in the freezer section. Possible. Expensive. Good luck.

BTW, the guys who have been telling you it won't work know their stuff. If you ask an expert you should listen to his advice.

Coool You are the FIRST person I have ever heard say that they have done this succesfully for temperate species for multiple years. Could you please share some pictures of your trees, and your setup?

do you know any good reliable resource material for the different species of trees?

And I take everything I am told on board, hence why I ask. Just I have the seeds now so may as well give it a crack haha :).

I am not sure whether you understood what was being hinted at. Under your current situation, you will have to look at tropical species. The species you have mentioned are not going to do well in your appartment. I have only once heard that someone did this succesfully for multiple years. And that once, was in this thread.

As for reputable seller.. I always like deshima bonsai. Not sure how far you are from them.
