Help so we were given a tree and watered it once a week like we were suppozed to and misted it all of a sudden the leaves turned yellow and fell off. Now its almost dead and has just a little bit of life left bit no leaves and almost all the branches have died. Is there any saving it or should i just trash it and start over ?

What makes you think that watering once a week is good or bad? Depending on where you have it you may be underwatering, or you could be overwatering. Never water to a schedule, water when needed. It could have an insect problem, you don't say how long you have had it. If it only a week or two then it may not have been healthy when you got it, if it is longer then it is probably your culture that is the problem. It does sound as if you have killed it, but how I am not sure. It could recover but unlikely,

Bit dificult to tell without actually having the tree in front of us. What you call almost all branches have died, might mean, there is no leaves, or the whole tree is dead.
