Hi folks, hope I can get some more experienced insight on this new Fukien I acquired. I have handled bonsai for years and have gardening experience but not with this species.
The tree appears to be in its 20s, experiencing leaf drop. See photos for details. I am not over-watering, have inspected for root rot, system looks healthy. Have it in southerly light in decent humidity. Looks to have been fertilized perhaps nearly a month ago judging by remnants of solid fert balls, so ruling out over fertilization.
Is this an infection based on what you see in the close-ups?
There is ample new growth happening on all branches, no obvious fungal infections, signs of aphids, mites, etc.
I just don’t have a feel for this species to know how things evidence.
Appreciate any help!

Why do you think, it's in it's "20's"? Has it seen frost, recently.
