I have just been gifted a Juniper bonsai and need some advice. I live in The upper peninsula of Michigan. Which is zone 4 or 5 mostly 5 depending on who you ask. Basically it can get very cold here in the winter months. I have been worried about leaving my plant outdoors this winter. Any suggestions? I have a room indoors that can get some sun and it cool. Or I have a basement which is 55-60 degree F in the winter with little light. Pleaase help

Just in the pots. Well baked ceramics do not absorb water and thus do not crackClicio wrote: Under mulch or just in the pot? Do the pots don't crack?

It gets pretty cold, but stays pretty cold in Michigans UP... I grew up south of there in Wisconsin:
here is a temperature graph:
I don't think it should be a problem, depending on the juniper species.
