My ficus has brittle, curled, dried up leaves with brown spots. What could be the reason? Any solution?
Appreciate any help.

Hi there,
I?m not sure this is a Ficus, however this is such a huge family (over 900 species or taxons already known) that I wouldn?t be too surprised if indeed it was.
Now, as why it is not happy... Well, there might be so many reasons... Overwatering, not properly watering it, bad substrate mix, improper care, not good air circulation and not enough sunlight, etc.
I actually don?t believe that those tiny brown dots might be pest or fungus related as non is seen in the pictures at first glance. I think this issue is more related to inability of providing this tree a proper care regime.
Side note... This tree is far to thin and the branches are too leggy, with almost no foliage whatsoever. Rebuilding from scratch would be a strong need and planting it in the ground and let it be for a few years for the trunk to thicken up, would be mandatory if you want to get any decent results with it, that is.

Thank you guys for your input.
The plant was placed outdoor but under total shade as the temperature is 45-48C in Indian Subcontinent right now. I thought full exposure to sun may result in sun burn etc. Also, I watered it twice daily because of extreme heat. I beleive it was overwatered.
Now, I have shifted it to a spot where it will get a few hours of direct sunlight in latter half of the day and have reduced watering to once a day.
Will these steps bring any positive change? And if yes, by when?
