Trunk is a little loose off the soil with some exposed roots. Does it need to be re-potted?

ehm.. Maybe. Maybe not.
Why not post a picture. If your tree is healthy, there is no need to repot untill the time is right.

Does the trunk move around the base when the tree is touched or exposed to the wind?JadeJ wrote: Trunk is a little loose off the soil with some exposed roots. Does it need to be re-potted?
If the answer is yes, this is not good for the finer roots.
