I'm getting into bonsai and reading and watching as many Youtube videos as I can. However, I can't seem to find straightforward answers regarding issues growing bonsais from seedlings.

I have purchased approx. 8 different seedlings (see attached photos), which are in pots in my backyard (South Florida). They are covered by the roof but receive direct sunlight until about 1pm.

1. I've read that bonsai soil should never go completely dry. I'm not sure if it's the FL sun but the soil seems to always be bone dry. I have been watering twice a day. Am I overwatering?

2. I am using "bonsai soil" that I purchased online. Was I not supposed to at this seedling stage?

Thanks to anyone who can assist.

Let them grow. Do nothing for at least one season.
They grow much faster in the ground, or in colanders.

Update:

I see your wiring is sloppy and useless at the moment. Take the wires off, learn to wire properly, and wire it next year.

Thank you for your notes.

Regarding the wiring, the seedling actually came like that, however, I do have some wiring on some of the others.

Regarding water, whether they are in the ground or in a pot, do I need to worry about the amount of water they receive? It rains a lot here. If they are in the ground, won't this be a possible issue?

Yes, you have to worry a lot.
In fact, watering a bonsai is a science that takes months, if not years to master.
Overwatering and under watering are the main killers of bonsai.
