I have a ficus bonsai and after losing my last one to rot I'm worried my new one has rot. Is this rot or early signs of it? And if it is what can I do to fix it?

Looks like hard water buildup.

And if you already lost a tree to rot, it's probably because you are overwatering an organic soil.
