Junipers in Michigan was created by argenton

I live in Michigan and started recently with 名媛直播. I got two Junipers a month ago, repotted and wired. They are doing ok indoor but I saw on 名媛直播 Empire video that I should take them outdoors. My question is: if i take them outdoors now, given the fact that they are indoors now, hence probably not dorment, will I have a problem with the low temps we have (around 30-40F for few more weeks), or should I keep them indoors until we go above 40F?

Hi there argenton and welcome to the Forum,

Junipers, as every other tree belong outdoors. Just post this question to yourself... Have you ever seen a tree or plant naturally growing indoors? If your answer is no (which most certainly should be), then you have the answer to your Juniper question.

Now, that said it is true that in cold weather places and specially when winter is coming, some trees should be protected, those are generally tropical and sub-tropical species. But this is not the case for your Juniper. It will always belong outdoors, unless temps fall way, way too cold (which almost never is the case) and in such extremely rare times then you could consider taking it into a protected space (note that I didn?t say indoors either).

Also and seeing your image... What?s the point on wiring completely this tree?

Hope this might have been of help.

Alain

I am not sure if you can just take them from room temperature to slightly below or just above freezing right away, but I do know this, when I was young I insisted on keep a few junipers that I had inside. The longest any one of them lasted was 6 weeks. Being inside will eventually kill the junipers.
For the future, if you live in northern Michigan, or the Upper Peninsula, you probably will need to find some way to protect your junipers during the coldest times. I don't live in Wisconsin (I grew up there) any more, but I am very familiar with the cold and wind of northern midwestern winters. :-D

-1?C - 5?C approximately? That should be endured by a juniper without further ado.

Couldn?t edit my previous comment...

By the previously mentioned temperature range I meant -1?C up to 5?C (positive sign). Reading my post again it might have led to misunderstanding.
