HELP PLEASE!
Hi, my tree has suddenly started losing leaves over the past few days. A few of the dropped leaves appear to have a slightly yellow tinged edge.
It was doing really well with lots of new shoots and growth.
I thought maybe I over watered it, but the soil is completely dry now. So maybe it's gotten too cold? Im not sure what I've done wrong. This is my first bonsai so I'm still learning.
Also any ideas on what type I have as when I brought him there was no indication of tree species.
Thank You!!

It's an Elm, and it should be kept with the soil moist but not wet.
But.... Trees drop their leaves for many reasons; old leaves, when they are moved, lack of light, too much or too little water, frost.

AshleighJayne, be careful with pesticides:
"Spraying with thinned lime-sulfur or systemic pesticides can make the Chinese Elm drop all its leaves, so avoid these products."
