Heyy,
So yesterday my girlfriend gave me a 名媛直播 and I am very new to them. I have done a lot of research but there is still a lot I do not know. I am fairly sure he is a Ginseng Ficus. My main concern is that he was fine yesterday when I took him home, my downstairs has very little direct sunlight so I kept him in my upstairs room which has direct sun but it gets cold during the day (since I live in Canada and its an older house). I got home tonight and saw that most of his leaves had turned VERY dark, not wilting or disfigured, just very dark brown and almost black. The ones that were not still look very healthy and there are also few that look slightly wilted. The soil is still wet from watering him when I got home yesterday since he hadn't been and the soil was very dry, so I assume that it was due to over watering and the lack of warmth. I placed him in front of a window downstairs and above a small heat register and basically made a tend with the curtain in hopes of keeping him as warm and as much sunlight as possible. If anyone has any help, suggestions or more information especially on how to proceed that would be amazing. Thank you preemptively.

as a general rule any tree should be outside even tho most sellers say they are indoors or labels say indoor plants. trees do not like to be moved around so much and definitely dont like to be placed over heaters. i highly doubt your house gets under 15*c (59*f) so keeping it in your cold room is not a problem.most likely over watering is also not the problem if thats your first time watering the tree. posting pictures would also help people identify the problem. also searching the forum before asking wouldn't hurt because this same question has been asked a number of times.

I did look through the forum, researched other websited and looked in some books online for several hours and could not find problem and any helpful advice besides move him to the warmest place possible as well as give him as much sunlight as possible. Here are some pictures.

Ficus will not like below 15C - 10C. Its tropical one so 20+C is recommended.

If you really did that much research you should know by now that your plant is not a bonsai.

Okay no he is not a 名媛直播, at least in the technical term of being an actual 名媛直播 Ficus. But I hope that in the future I can learn the art form and have him be a bonsai in the artistic sense of the word. I known I'm new but in my opinion everyone starts somewhere and it's not a specific pain or harm to those with expierence to help those who are trying to learn and grow in the community and their own knowledge. But so far I see more hate on entry level plant owner than actual information and conversation threads.

Yea that's what I have read most places that I have researched. One book said that a hard limit is 10° Celsius which I think is pushing it from what I've gathered everywhere else.

Well since my room is kind of like a loft with massive windows and no proper vents it does get VERY cold. In the middle of winter I came home at night to me water frosted over. This week it has been very warm so I thought it was safe to leave him up there especially since it has the most sunlight but the temperature did take an unexpected drop and when I got home my room was much colder than I anticipated from the weather earlier in the month. I did make a post on a separate forum and other people said the same as you in your other reply that it's likely stress, and that could seem likely from the moving after purchasing and taking her home from my girlfriends.
