Not sure what this is let me know what everybody think.. Two pictures of this white stuff and normal looking green on the top.

do you water with tap water? if so, how hard is the tap water where you are? it could be that.

I live in BC Canada we apparently have some of the best water not sure how hard it is.. Do you know?

i too get the same thing but i do water my trees from the top using the tap water. i believe regardless of how good your tap water is you are going to have some calcium in it which can explain the white stuff.

Not harmful, but it's good practice to clean it periodically

Bit hard to see on the photos but it seems it's only the tips of the needles that are white?
To me it seems salts would not leave residue there - so I think it's not salt.
Could be a fungus or a bug - but I can't tell from the pictures.

Auk is right.
If there is no salt buildup visible by the pot's borders, base of the trunk and/or superficial soil, then it's not salt from the watering.
Sorry for not paying enough attention to the pictures.
