Hi there,
I am very much a beginner with bonsai and have a LOT to learn!

I made the mistake of leaving my Chinese Elm bonsai outdoors overnight (in Northern New Mexico).
The temperature dropped to approx. 20 degrees fahrenheit / -6 C

I read that some Chinese Elm can endure some frost, but this elm did not.
The leaves appeared to be transparent from the cold and then they became dry and shriveled.

I removed all the dead leaves, and you can see what the tree looks in the photo attached.
I was wondering first of all if there is a chance this tree will make it? Also what can I do to nurture it back to health?

Any and all advice is welcome and much appreciated!

Since when its like this? When this happened? Tree looks dead but I am not the one to confirm. These little ones are not able to survive extreme temperetures like the others. Keep basic care and if you dont get signs of life in next couple of weeks its good to toss. Sorry.

That did not happen overnight. My Chinese Elms right at this moment are outside and the temperature is only(?) about-4C., but the wind chill makes it -12C. It will be fine. That tree in the picture was not damaged by one night of -6C. Keeping moving it in and out is the worse thing you can do. Losing leaves is not in itself indicative of frost damage. I agree, keep it moist and wait, it may be ok but the frost did not do for this tree.

Thank you for your comments. I thought leaving it out overnight damaged the leaves, but perhaps it was bringing it back inside the next morning that did the damage?

Well.. I am happy to say that the Chinese elm is beginning to show signs of life!!! I have kept it on a heat mat for a bit and kept it moist...
