Choosing bonsai pot was created by LichtHund

Hello, I am new to bonsai, it was always a dream for me to have them but I was always scared of getting one, I got one 16 months ago and I was wondering what are the pots requisites for bonsai.
Like, what are the materials? would plastic pot work? things like that, also size and height.
I really want to learn as much as I can.
I've seen bonsai that didn't even have pots, like this:

So is there any restriction to which pot I should get?

Cheers, Matt!

Depends on the tree, its age, shape, style.

would plastic pot work?

For me, absolutely not - unless when it's a tree in training.

Can't see the tree without pot that you're referring to... I don't follow external links.

For the design and the final result the right pot will be important - but also for the health of the tree a suitable pot is needed.

However, I suspect you should not be concerned about pots yet. The health of your trees is more important.
